It's really scary that we've gotten to the point that people pumping toxic waste out of our parks and playgrounds is not really that much cause for concern. I wonder how many other people looked, shrugged and walked on by, not giving it any other thought? And I wonder how many places in the world that stuff ISN'T getting pumped out and dealt with? I'm a little bit frightened.

It's pretty ironic how a lot of the apple user-base is really into the environment, and yet they have had some pretty awful business practices. I'm glad that they're making positive steps in this direction, though! :-)

Last Child in the Woods

There's a book out there, Richard Louv's "Last Child in the Woods," about a phenomenon he calls "nature deficit disorder"... Children lately have not been experiencing nature very much, and our culture has been suffering -- severely, I might add -- from this lack. I've never read the book, but I would very much like to.
