Forget Blockbuster and Netflix. Movieworks is an awesome locally owned movie rental place that has an extensive collection. Plus, if they happen to not have what you're looking for, just let one of the super nice staff members know and they'll order it for you and call you when it comes in. Just like watertick said, they do take a few steps in the green direction, but they're always looking to improve, and the staff is really knowledgeable and helpful. I highly recommend you check it out. Support small local business!

29 NEWBURY STREET RESTAURANT

This place really doesn't get enough attention anymore. Its been around for a while, and in terms of hipness, 29 Newbury is not in its prime anymore. Regardless, the quaint, cozy dinning room and bar feels warm and relaxed, while nice lighting and beautiful local art maintain the higher-end Newbury feel that this place used to be known for. The food is priced fairly, and though it's not the finest meal on the street, it certainly doesn't disappoint. Don't miss the delicious brunch on Saturday or Sunday, but skip the breakfast browns for the sweet potatoes, which are awesome.

Assuming this is the Grass Roots Cafe in the office building next to the Verizon store, (there were no other options in the search results) I feel taken! Do not be fooled by the earthy name and logo!

 

SATC - maybe not so green?

I know the Sex and the City movie had at least once instance that was less than green. During an interview with Oprah (yes - I heart Oprah), Sarah Jessica Parker told a story about how they put an intern on a plane to Mexico retrieve a wedding dress from a Vogue photo shoot that they needed. I guess it would depend if it was a commercial plane that was going to go regardless, or a private jet they hired just for that reason...right? :) Don definitely makes some good points about why SATC may be more green than other movies, but in a cut-throat industry with a "get it done - I don't care how" attitude - I would imagine it is pretty difficult to stay true to always Being Green.
