BostonCommons, whoever wrote the review before me, pretty much nailed this one on the head. I might add that:

Super Good!
+They carry fresh foods, focusing on carrying mainly organic products
+Less expensive than Trader Joe's without a noticable reduction in quality
+Food comes from local, small food artisans who know what they're doin...bigtime!

Super Green!
+Those who bring their own reusable bags receive a small discount.

The Other Side Café is aptly named; located on the other side of Massachusetts Avenue—across the street from the Hynes Convention Center T Stop—it serves as a safe-haven from the surrounding commercialism and materialistic lemmings. I occasionally swing by after work to grab a beer and some grub. Never disappointed.

+ Great music
+ Outdoor seating for those who want to enjoy the nice weather (or have a smoke)
+ Bring-Your-Own-Cup coffee discounts to reduce waste
+ Convenient recycling containers
+ Great menu options those who eat vegetarian, vegan, and raw

A few Boston promotors turned everyone’s favorite jockular sports bar into an awful dive that is infested with creatively minded individuals on any given night. Some examples of the crappy music they host here are: Mission of Burma, DMBQ, Lightning Bolt, Neptune, Esoteric, AIDS Wolf, Spank Rock, the Dicks, Doomriders, Afri Rampo…pretty much everything you despise.

GS has outdoor ash receptacles available for smokers. GS even recycles. WHY?!

Bagel Rising is my favorite bagel spot in Allston, MA hands down.

+ Friendly service and familiar faces - If you're a young Allstonite and have lived here for a few years, then chances are you know someone who works at Bagel Rising. If not, there is a good chance that you'll run into a familiar face while grabbing a bite.

+Diverse options - There is a multitude of bagel, sandwich, wrap, spread, topping, beverage and specialty items. In addition, they have vegan and vegetable friendly options for those who stay away from the meat.

I like Herrells Cafe. They offer a good selection of desserts, as well as breafast and lunch foods. It's small, cozy and quaint. Art dresses the walls--pieces of which you can purchase for about 50-100 bones. I could easily see this hot spot on South Street in Philly, only it's on Brighton Avenue in Allston and arguably one of Allston's finest, most notable landmarks.

Boca Grande is one of my favorite restaurants for authentic, Mexican food. They have a wide variety of burritos, quesadillas, enchiladas, tacos, and mexican plates all made from fresh ingredients. I'm a fan of the enchilada because you get a little more food than you would in a burrito--plus a little more flavor--for about the same price. The home brewed iced tea and fresh lemonade tops it off nicely.

Boca Grande doesn't do anything particularly green besides recycling. They could work on using green cleaning materials, composting, etc.

COOLIDGE CORNER THEATRE

The Coolidge Corner Theater is a not-for-profit, independent place to watch films that stray from insular cinematic conventions. Although the price isn't much cheaper than most theaters, the experience makes it worthwhile, from the student workers, to the 17-seat Mini Max room, to the old fashioned 454-seat Moviehouse room. They also have pretty sweet events, like masked wrestling, music, and sing-a-longs...yup.

However, I'm not really sure that anything they do is actually green, other than throwing out the trash.

Are you guys nuts? You forgot to mention the awesome buffet every third thursday. Just bring a few bucks with you and you can practically eat as much as you can bare to stomach.

The next time you're in there I highly recommend the Grasshopper Supreme. If you're into eggplant, asparagus, spinach, and portabello mushrooms with a basily type of flavor, you'll dig this dish.

I have absolutely no knowledge of what the Grasshopper does to be green. I'll upgrade their green rating if they start giving away their oil for veggie vehicles.

UBurger is some strange TwilightZone intersection between fast food and restaurant food that actually uses completely fresh ingredients. My only wish is that it wasn't overpriced considering that the food isn't THAT great. I also wished that they jumped on the green train already. Does anyone know if they recycle? I didn't notice the option.

KnowFat is both a nutrition center and a healthy, fast-food restaurant--a one-stop shop for current and aspiring nutrition junkies. The nutrition center has an assortment of products that specialize in weight control, muscle tone, endurance, vitamins, and snacks. The restaurant has good taste, smartly portioned servings of typical American cuisine, only healthy (i.e. the French fries are air cooked instead of fried). Sure, the food isn't as delicious as fatty American food, but that usually isn't a concern for the health fan who usually frequents this Massachusetts based chain.
