Me:

I am a pizza fanatic. If I could, I would live on Pizza. When my wife is out of town, the dog and I typically do live on Pizza. To me, Pizza done right is the perfect meal for any meal of the day. That being said, I am a bit of a pizza snob. I dream of some day owning my own pizza oven (made out of cob of course) and making perfect pies.

SANTARPIOS PIZZA

Santarpios was my first love when it comes to pizza. I used to religiously celebrate my birthday here for a number of years, and for me it remains solidly up there as the best pizza in Boston.

Never been to Santarpios? Well, it is a definitely a local whole in the wall, well maybe one step up from a whole in the wall. They did repaint recently after all. The staff at Santarpios is definitely all Bostonians, they will scoff at requests for ice tea, or bottled water.. they might insult you, but it is all part of the experience.

OHARAS

O'Hara's is the local Irish Pub/Restaurant located in Newton Highlands. It is family owned and operated. You will find among the staff definitely folks that are just off the boat so to speak. When I talk to people from Newton, this is usually one of the places that they have eaten at many times. It is a good family restaurant, provided your family likes to drink.

The menu is standard american pub-fare. Meaning there is something in it for everyone: Burgers -> Fried Food -> to Pizza. Overall I would say the food is good/decent... it is a very safe bet for your eating dollar.

I guess I understand why PETA is doing it, but as a meat / BBQ guy, I would be looking for something that is beyond approximating the texture of real meat..

I do love books, and every time I see them with the covers ripped off it does make me feel bad for the book. It does seem with all the advances in supply-chain automation and the rest that book-publishers could get closer to printing something close to what the demand would be.. And don't even get me started on a better way for the left-over books to be "pulped"..

I haven't been to a game this season, but it is cool that the green team is all volunteer based. That's pretty amazing.. and inspirational.. and it works well for the sox too. ;)

From The Tank Update

Being the sort of person that appreciates a bargain, but conversely believes you can't usually do wrong paying more for something, took the remainder of the "The Tank" home. I was convinced that it had just gotten too hot here in the office before it was served. My speculation paid off, after cooling down for a few days, the wine really did taste better and matched the quality of what you would expect for its price. After a week of drinking "The Tank", we were convinced that it was a solid red table wine. Despite the weird ergonomic issues of the tank box, we did enjoy the convenience of having a good glass of wine that we could have with a meal and not worry about having just another glass to finish off the bottle.. We are actually going to bug our local wine shop to start trying to carry some box wine.
