Alaska Hates Polar Bears
On Monday, August 4, 2008, the state of Alaska, and its entire human population, announced its collective hatred of the world’s most beloved animal – the majestic polar bear. That’s a true story.
Well, not exactly. But Alaska has chosen to sue Interior Secretary Dirk Kempthorne, in hopes of reversing his decision to list the Polar Bear as a threatened species under the Endangered Species Act.

EPA employees hate their boss

The Bush Administration's foot-dragging on regulating CO2 emissions has now apparently started to pit bureaucrats against their bosses. According to McClatchy Newspapers, a union representing EPA employees has fired off a letter accusing EPA chief Stephen Johnson of ignoring their proposals for regulating greenhouse gas emissions, and sullying their reputations in the process.

2008 Olympics leaving China thirsty for more
The 2008 Olympics are a source of national pride for China. But could they end up leaving parts of China high and dry? The San Francisco chronicle has reported that the city of Beijing's already substantial water consumption will increase by at least 5% during the Olympic games next month.

Bush the comedian
