When I visited Boston on a business trip, I ended up staying in the Copley Inn for about a week and a half. For someone visiting Boston for (essentially) the first time, it was all in all a nice experience. Each hotel room was furnished with a kitchen, complete with a stove and a large fridge. This made it nice and easy to cook my own food instead of being forced to eat out every day, which saved me money and also allowed me to eat organic, wholesome food, and occasionally host guests for dinner.
TV was kind of sparse, but that wasn't really a big deal for me... there's so much to do in Boston; sitting at home and watching TV is kind of a stupid thing to do if you're visiting. Especially if you're at the Copley Inn; there's so much going on, right around the corner! There are at least 3 easily accessible T stops (Prudential, Back Bay, and Copley) and a bunch of food stores (Shaws, for example), restaurants, attractions (the Prudential Center), shopping (at the heart of the super expensive Back Bay shopping district).
While I don't know how energy efficient the appliances in each room are, they seem clunky and old. This is good, because they evidently don't readily throw away reliable, working equipment that they've had for a long long time, but it's also worrisome because it looks like the TV, stove, fridge, etc... were made in the 50's (well, maybe the 80's, but they just seemed *old* to me) when there was no such thing as Energy Star or any real match to today's frenzied calls for saving electricity.
While the hotel was definitely not perfect, it was comfortable and clean, and I dont know how much more I could ask for.
