As a student at UMass Boston for the past four years, I've observed a huge increase in the number of green resources sponsored by the university. The UMBe Green program, for one, "encompasses 4 areas in moving towards sustainability: Recycling Education, Sustainability and Practice." Bottle and paper recycling has been promoted with the addition of hundreds of bins, and composting is encouraged in the cafeteria, where you can compost your recycled cardboard tray. Additionally, the shuttle service has been trying out hybrid buses.
